Built by People Who Actually Track Their Own Money

We started loynaperqix in 2019 because spreadsheets kept failing us. Five years later, we're still here in Salamander Bay, helping Australian households make sense of their annual budgets without the overwhelm.

How We Started

Back in 2019, three of us were sitting in a coffee shop trying to figure out why our budgets never matched reality. We'd tried every app, every template, every system. But they all assumed we wanted to track every coffee purchase or set up complicated categories.

We just wanted to know if we could afford a holiday next winter. And whether switching electricity providers actually mattered.

So we built something different. loynaperqix focuses on annual planning because that's how life actually works. You don't think in monthly cycles when you're planning a renovation or deciding if you can handle a car payment.

By early 2023, over 12,000 Australian households were using our approach. Not because we promised miracles, but because the system worked for real people with messy finances.

What Makes Our Method Different

We don't believe in complex systems or tracking every transaction. Our approach is built around three principles that actually matter when you're planning a year ahead.

01

Annual Thinking

Most budget tools force you into monthly views. But insurance is annual. Car registration is annual. School fees are annual. We built around the rhythm of actual expenses.

02

Reality Buffers

Your water heater will break. Someone will need emergency dental work. Instead of pretending life is predictable, we help you plan for the unpredictable parts upfront.

03

Quarterly Check-ins

Four times a year, you review what's working. That's it. No daily tracking, no guilt about coffee, no spreadsheet anxiety. Just realistic adjustments every three months.

Meet the Team Behind loynaperqix

We're a group of twelve people working from our Salamander Bay office. Some of us have finance backgrounds. Others came from teaching, design, or customer support. What connects us is we've all struggled with money management ourselves.

Ingrid spent seven years as a high school maths teacher before co-founding loynaperqix. She got tired of watching colleagues stress about budgets while banks pushed complicated products they didn't need. Her teaching background shows up everywhere in our programs.

Our education programs launched in mid-2023 after dozens of users asked for structured learning. We now offer quarterly sessions that start in March, June, September, and December 2025.

  • We test everything on ourselves first. If a method feels tedious, we don't teach it.
  • We avoid finance jargon. If your teenager can't understand it, we rewrite it.
  • We acknowledge when something won't work for everyone. Different households need different approaches.
  • We update our content based on actual feedback, not what sounds good in marketing.

Where We're Heading

Over the next year, we're expanding our workshop series across the Hunter Region. Not because we want to be huge, but because too many people are stressed about money unnecessarily.

We're also developing resources specifically for households dealing with irregular income. That's been our most requested topic since 2024, and we've been working with freelancers and casual workers to get it right.

Our autumn 2025 programs start accepting participants in August. We keep groups small because that's when learning actually happens.
